California Seller of Travel Registration
The Japan Tour Company is registered as a Seller of Travel with the State of California.
CST Registration Number: #2147386-50
Registration as a Seller of Travel does not constitute approval by the State of California. This registration number is assigned by the California Attorney General's office.
Bond Information
The Japan Tour Company maintains a surety bond in the amount of $10,000, issued by SuretyBonds.com, as required by the California Seller of Travel Act. This bond is held for the protection of consumers and may be used to pay for refunds owed to consumers in the event of the company's cessation of operations.
Refund Policy for Cancelled Services
If The Japan Tour Company cancels a tour or service for any reason, participants will receive a full refund of all amounts paid, including deposits. Refunds will be processed within 14 business days to the original payment method. The Japan Tour Company is not responsible for any incidental expenses incurred by travelers (such as non-refundable airfare or accommodation booked independently).
Travel Consumer Restitution Fund (TCRF)
This transaction is covered by the Travel Consumer Restitution Fund (TCRF) if the seller of travel was registered and participating in the TCRF at the time of sale. Eligible consumers may file a claim with the TCRF if they suffer a loss as a result of the seller of travel's failure to provide travel services.
- Maximum claim amount: $15,000 per transaction
- Filing fee: $35 per claim
- Filing deadline: Claims must be filed within 12 months of the scheduled completion date of travel

Pandemic & Public Health Disclaimer
Travel involves inherent risks, including exposure to communicable diseases. The Japan Tour Company monitors public health advisories and travel restrictions but cannot guarantee that conditions will remain unchanged between the time of booking and the time of travel. Travelers are responsible for staying informed of current entry requirements, health guidelines, and travel advisories issued by their home country and the government of Japan.
In the event that a tour must be cancelled or modified due to pandemic-related restrictions, government orders, or public health emergencies, our standard cancellation policy will apply unless otherwise communicated. We will work with affected travelers to reschedule or provide credits when possible.
Travel Requirements
It is the traveler's responsibility to:
- Reconfirm all flight reservations at least 72 hours before departure
- Arrive at the airport with sufficient time for check-in (we recommend at least 3 hours for international flights)
- Carry a valid government-issued photo ID and passport at all times during international travel
- Ensure passport validity of at least 6 months beyond the planned return date
- Obtain any required visas or travel authorizations before departure
- Comply with all customs and immigration regulations of Japan and their home country
Liability Disclaimer
The Japan Tour Company acts as an agent for various service providers including, but not limited to, airlines, hotels, ryokans, transportation companies, tour operators, and attraction providers. We are not the owner or operator of these third-party services and are not liable for any injury, death, damage, loss, accident, delay, or irregularity arising from or related to:
- Acts or omissions of third-party service providers
- Weather conditions, natural disasters, or acts of God
- War, civil unrest, terrorism, or political instability
- Government actions, quarantine, customs regulations
- Mechanical breakdowns, equipment failures, or transportation delays
- Theft, loss, or damage to personal property
- Any other circumstances beyond our reasonable control
By booking a tour with The Japan Tour Company, you acknowledge and accept these risks and agree to hold harmless The Japan Tour Company, its owners, employees, and agents from any and all claims arising from your participation in our tours.
Insurance Requirement
All participants are required to carry travel insurance with a minimum of $200,000 in Emergency Medical Evacuation coverage. We strongly recommend a comprehensive policy that includes coverage for:
- Trip cancellation and interruption
- Emergency medical expenses
- Emergency medical evacuation ($200,000 minimum required)
- Baggage loss or delay
- Travel delay
Proof of adequate insurance coverage may be requested prior to departure. The Japan Tour Company reserves the right to deny participation to travelers who do not carry the required insurance coverage.
